Business inin Bruges

They say to keep work and pleasure separate, to not merge the two, and I agree, sexual relations should be kept out of the workplace because we simply don’t have time for the drama.

And then I meet Jan in Bruges, Belgium.

Technically it doesn’t count. We’re still colleagues but in different offices. Different countries.

My company flew me to Bruge for three days to update our overseas team on the marketing strategies. I was undecided at first when they asked me. Why couldn’t the meetings be done over teams? It would certainly be more efficient. Save us a few pence.

“Because we’re losing the art of communication,” was my manager’s response. “And besides, it’s a free holiday.”
