My first Tinder hookup

My firstfirst Tinder hookup

I’m a firm believer in meeting a partner in person so you have that first interaction to look back on and keep close to your heart. It’s the reason I’ve never downloaded Tinder. Hinge. Bumble. I never knew how many there were until I’m sitting next to my friend on the overground out of the city helping her decide which guys to swipe left and which ones to swipe right.

“It’s just a bit of fun,” she says. “Depends what you’re after, of course. Wouldn’t recommend finding the love of your life on Tinder, but if you’re up for a bit of fun. Something to spice up your nights a little…”

It’s been three months since I broke up with my ex. It wasn’t a great time. The winter didn’t help, either snowing or raining or windy or icy. Typical winter really for a girl who lives in the north of England. Five years we were together. It didn’t work out in the end. He got with the girl at work he claimed was only a ‘friend.’ Received a message from some guy on facebook one morning to say he’s been cheating, so like any self respecting girl, I blocked. Cut off.

But now spring is here, my heart is healed. I’m open to something new, and I’m not talking about a relationship. Something… casual. I’ve always been a relationship kind of woman. It’s time for a switch up.
